SAL - Snapper Time: janeiro - January

Já estamos em julho, mas, no SAL Snapper Time, ainda é janeiro. E (melhor) neva (algo impossível no Brasil)! Este é o meu primeiro bloquinho deste SAL. Ele marca também a primeira vez em que uso as linhas Weeks Dye e Gentle Arts. Elas são ma-ra-vi-lho-sas. Têm uma diferenciação de cores suave no fio, dando matizes diferentes à figura bordada. Adorei e, se não fossem tão caras, só usaria essas linhas em todos os meus trabalhos.

Desta vez, juro, tirei um monte de fotos. Mas como o meu computador estava no conserto e eu fiquei com um emprestado, as fotos foram junto com o outro PC, já devolvido ao dono, Sérgio, meu amigo que conserta o Dieter (meu computador). Vou pedir para que o Sérgio me envie as fotos por e-mail , mas, até lá, continuará "nevando" só na foto grandona aí, nada de miniaturas.

We are in July, but in the SAL Snapper Time it is still January. And (great!!!) it snows (something impossible in Brazil)! This is my first block this SAL. It is also the first time I use Weeks Dye and Gentle Arts flosses. They simply WONDERFUL! Each color has a differentiation of soft tones in the yarn, wich give different nuances to the picture border. I loved the flosses, and if they weren't so expensive, I would only use these threads in all my needlework.

This time, I swear, I took a bunch of photos, lazyness went away. But as my computer was in repair and I got a loan, the photos were with the other PC, which I have already returned to the owner, Sérgio, who is my friend that repairs my Dieter (this is the name of my PC). I'll talk to Sérgio and ask me to send them to me by e-mail, but, till then, it will only "snow" in that big picture, no thumbs.

Uau! Esta foi uma semana cheia. Fiz muitas coisas, recebi boas notícias e cimentei um pouco mais uma amizade que me é muito cara.

Mas vamos começar pelo começo. Ali acima está mais um agulheiro que bordei. Gostei muito de bordar essas coisas. Ahn... bem, acho que já deve dar para notar, uma vez que este é o terceiro que faço, até agora, todos oferecidos a amigas. Deixem-me, contudo, concentrar-me na história deste agulheiro em especial.

Foi graças à net, que conheci essa amiga, a Locas (na verdade, ela se chama Paula, por isso o "P" de inicial no agulheiro, como poderão ver no detalhe abaixo desta postagem. Locas é só um apelido.), que mora em outro país, em outro hemisfério. Fui conhecendo os gostos da minha amiga portuguesa cada vez mais graças ao Fazendo Arte em Ponto Cruz, o fórum sobre o qual sempre falo aqui e onde conheci muito das minhas boas amigas de hoje em dia.

A Locas é uma mulher cheia de energia, que adora cavalos, gosta de ir à praia, tem opiniões fortes e adora touradas. Também gosta da cor laranja. Tudo isso, soube pelo fórum onde nossa amizade floresceu. O gosto da Locas por cavalos é tão marcante que, desde que a conheci, sempre que vejo esses bichos, seja na televisão, em revistas de ponto cruz, fotos, em qualquer lugar, enfim, lembro-me dela.

E foi isso que ocorreu quando vi uma revista Penelope com um monte de esquemas que tinham como tema os cavalinhos. Quis enviá-la à Locas, mas não poderia mandar-lhe só a revista, assim, "a seco". Inventei de bordar-lhe um presentinho, um agulheiro, já que em um dos comentários que ela deixou aqui, dizia que as agulhas que tinha viviam espalhadas.

Quis algo que representasse nossa amizade e, claro, na cor preferida dela, o laranja. Escolhi um freebie que achei lindo, com dois anjinhos em um coração. Sobre a cor laranja, tenho um amigo que dá aulas de semiótica em uma universidade que me disse que ela é a cor de quem está livre, a cor das pessoas resolvidas corporalmente, sexualmente, mas de um modo conectado ao espiritual. É uma conquista. Acho que ele, sem conhecer a Locas, não poderia descrevê-la melhor. Locas, você merece gostar de laranja! E merece, querida, muito mais que uma revista e alguns presentinhos. Você é alguém rara. Fico muito feliz de merecer sua amizade.

A outra notícia da semana foi que comecei um novo SAL lá no fórum (na verdade, bem, comecei dois porque parece que há um bichinho em mim que não me deixa recusar SALs, mesmo que depois eu me enrole toda com os prazos. Shhhhh! Como dizem, abafa, abafa...). E, desta vez, sou eu a responsável pelo SAL Snapper Time, do Bent Creek. Agora temos selinhos para os SALs e aí ao lado está o deste (na parte da postagem em inglês, está como deverá ficar o quadro depois de pronto). É mais um calendário, com doze bloquinhos, um para cada mês. Somos vinte e oito meninas inscritas e a primeira etapa já foi enviada por e-mail a todas as participantes.

Dá para imaginar como estou feliz e, ao mesmo tempo, ansiosa? Além de ser um SAL lindo, tenho de manter o controle sobre a apresentação de resultados de finalização de cada uma das etapas ao longo dos 12 meses previstos para a realização do trabalho. Uau, é um bocado de responsabilidade! Mas é uma responsabilidade que administro com felicidade porque vamos todas nos divertindo e aprofundando amizades. Além disso, a cada mês terei mais resultados de bordados - o do Snapper Time e o SAL Winter Snapperland, também do Bent Creek - meus para mostrar a vocês.

Wow! This was a busy week. I did many things, I have good news and strengthened a friendship that is very special to me. But first things first.

At the big shot, you can see another needlebook I stitched. I love to stitch these things. Ahn ... well, I think I don't even have to mention it, since this is the third that I have stitched, until now, all of them offered to friends. Let me, however, concentrate on me in the story of this needlebook in particular.

Thanks to the web, I met this friend, Locas (actually, she is called Paula, that is why there is an initial "P" at the needlebook, as you can see in detail below this post. Locas is just her nickname.) that lives in another country, in another hemisphere. I know some of the preferences of this portuguese friend of mine thanks to Fazendo Arte em Ponto Cruz, the forum on which I knew a good part of my dearest friends I have nowadays.

Locas is a lady full of energy, who loves horses, likes to go to the beach, has strong opinions and loves watching bullfighting. She also likes the color orange. I became aware of all of this piece of information the forum forum where our friendship blossomed. Locas' fondness for horses is so striking that, since I met her wherever and I see these animals, whether on television, in magazines-point cross, pictures, anywhere, I remember her.

This is what happened when I saw Penelope, a magazine full of patterns of horses. Instantly, I wished to send it to Locas, but I just couldn't send just the magazine, without anything else to her. So I came up with the idea of stitching a gift to her, a needlebook, once in one of the comments she left here, she said that her needles were all scattered.

I wanted to give her something that represented our friendship and, of course, in her favorite color, orange. I have chosen a freebie with two little angels inside a heart. About orange, I have a friend who teaches semiotics at an university and he told me once that orange is the color of who is free, the color of people who has exact ideas about body, sexuality, but in a way that is also connected to the spiritual. Liking orange is an achievement, he said. I think that, without knowing Locas, could not describe it better whatsoever. Locas, you deserve to like orange! And deserves, dear, much more than a magazine and some little gifts from me. You are someone unusual. I am very happy to deserve your friendship.

The other news of the week was that I started a new SAL in the forum (actually, well, I got two because it seems that there is a bug in me that will not let me refuse SALs, even that, after some little time I wrap all the steps of them. Shhhhhoooosh!...). And this time, I am responsible for the SAL Snapper Time, by Bent Creek. Now we have stamps for all the SALs ("mine" is at the part that is written in portguese). Here is how the picture will seem after the finishing results. As all of you can see, it is a calendar, with twelve little blocks, one for each month. We are twenty eight girls registered at this SAL and the first has already been sent by email to all participants.

Can you imagine how happy I am, and at the same time, anxious? Besides being a beautiful SAL, I have to maintain control over the presentation of results of each phase over the 12 months set for the completion of this handwork. Wow, is quite a responsibility! But it is a responsibility to manage with happiness because we are all having fun and deepen friendships. In addition, each month will have more results of my stitching works - the Snapper Time and the Winter Time Snapperland SAL, also by Bent Creek - to show you here.
